LEE'S SUMMIT - KC Scout has again made it easier and safer for metro motorists to navigate our roadways. To support motorists traveling through
MoDOT Kansas City's I-29 bridge rehabilitation project,
KC Scout has activated the dynamic message boards along that corridor to display travel times to major interchanges.
Beginning with the a.m. commute on Monday, May 4, motorists will be notified of average travel times.
Displays will also alert drivers to incidents along their route.
Travel time is practical information travelers can use to assess traffic and routes.
Motorists can decide early in their commute if they should choose an alternative route because their intended route is too congested.
The dynamic message boards work in tandem with KC Scout's interactive traffic website, and mobile APP
which display real-time traffic information and camera shots of busy roadways.
KC Scout is Kansas City's bi-state traffic management system, designed to lessen traffic jams by improving rush-hour speeds,
increasing safety by decreasing the number of rush-hour accidents and improving emergency response to traffic situations by
clearing incidents quickly and safely. Scout manages traffic on more than 160 miles of continuous freeways in the greater
Kansas City metropolitan area.
